NEW Education Trunk - Missoula History through Children’s Eyes

This new education history trunk will be available in Fall 2010 for teachers to check out, free of charge, for a 2 week period or presented by a docent.  We are calling it a “Hatbox History Kit”, because the complete trunk can be checked out, or the separate “hatbox” components can be checked out individually, depending on the classroom needs and interests.  This is an ideal option for 3rd graders studying local history.  The hands-on, interactive trunk includes the following components:

  1. Introduction - Presettlement, 1700-1850s

  2. Children on the Way

  3. Children and Their Environment

  4. Children at Home

  5. Children in Town

  6. Children at School and Church

  7. Children and Art
