NEW Education Trunk - Missoula History through Children’s Eyes

In November 2008, this new education history trunk will be available for teachers to check out, free of charge, for a 2 week period, or presented by a docent in the classroom.  We are calling it a “Hatbox History Kit”, because the complete trunk can be checked out, or a separate “hatbox” component can be checked out individually, depending on the classroom needs and interests.  This is an ideal option for 3rd graders studying local history.  The hands-on, interactive trunk includes the following components:

  1. Introduction - Pre-settlement, 1700 - 1850

  2. Children and Their Land

  3. Children on the Way

  4. Children at Home and in Town

  5. Children at Work and Play

  6. Children at School

  7. Children at Church

  8. Children and Art

Brownie Try-It Day - "Listening to the Past" - April 19th, 2008

Stay tuned for more info...

Teacher Workshop - "It's a Homesteader's Life for Me" - October 4th, 2008
